I'm a bloggy girl in a bloggy world

So I decided that I needed a change with my facebook pic for "Sereknitty And Purls" and this is what I came up with. I figured that it would do for now but I am hoping that some day I will have a logo or something that I can actually put on my business cards. Look at Starbucks... they have a logo and its put on nearly (if not all) everything they advertise on.
Maybe one day I can recruit someone to help me brainstorm and draw something up.
I don't really trust my own ability to draw anything seeming has how i have been out of practice for quite some time.
But anyway! I figured this would work for now and was some what better than the previous pic that I had seeming as how it now specifies that I do custom knitting and it identifies me by name to those who are not familiar with who I am.
Just don't really envision my face being plastered on EVERYTHING.

Now I've been doing a lot of knitting lately (Big Shocker) and it seems that I have done more custom knitting/crocheting for others than for myself. So, I started this project that is really quite simple and have been knitting on it as my therapy in between projects.
Here it is...

I absolutely love this thing. I know that it is kinda warm for a scarf/wrap thingy... 94% to be exact BUT I have always wanted to knit something like this and especially one that wasn't too complicated. It made for good television knitting for sure :)
The pattern is not of my own. It came from this young designer named Alexandra Tinsley that I came across when I first learned how to knit.
Here is the pattern for Garteriffic.
This isn't the first pattern that I've knitted from Alex and though she does offer quite a few free patterns I will admit that I have bought some of her patterns too.
She really has been a pretty big inspiration to me over the past couple years. I just really appreciate her creativity, her style, and her ambition and dedication to be successful in her business Dull Roar. She has a couple of EBooks out right now and some of her patterns have made it out to printing and are being placed in many stores out there. I'm really quite excited for her even though she doesn't know me personally. lol
Anyway
Being that she has this pattern copyrighted and forbids that any items made from this pattern be sold... I won't be able to sell this
BUT
if you like this and are wanting something similar please let me know and I will figure something out for you! I think it would be fun to write a pattern of my own and may do it once I finish my orders.

Well off I go to make a pot of coffee!
With the help of my coffee pot... VICTORY IS MINE!
Just have had a lazy day today and need a little pick me up... that's all. :)

OH! and one more thing! Give me some blog post ideas! Are there questions I can answer for you?

Love you ALL!

25 Things About Me

Not like it really matters but thought I'd post it anyway! lol
Sure is kinda tricky to come up with 25 things about me that people don't know but I managed to do it and thought I'd share the list!

1. I can't stand the sound of buttering toast. Buttering toast to me is like fingernails down a chalkboard for many. *shivers* Thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

2. I learned how to knit 2.5 years ago. I made mention that I wanted to learn how and my husband, David, bought me yarn, needles, and a lesson :) The rest is history!

3. I love the older shows that they would show on Nick@Night like "I Dream of Jeannie" and the "Partridge Family".

4. I consider my left side "my good side". Don't know why but I think my nose looks much larger from the right side than it does from the left side. Who Cares right?! lol

5. I called Fisher Prices "Little People" toys "Leople People" as a child and continued to call them such till I was in Junior High. No one corrected me until then and only because they were confused what I was talking about. :)

6. I very much enjoy the soap opera "Days of Our Lives" and have watched it off and on since I was 13 yrs old.

7. I won't pay more than 10 dollars for a shirt and think that if I can get jeans, skirts, or dresses for 15 bucks or less than its a steal! 30 is my max for a pair jeans which I buy maybe once every year or two.

8. I didn't think I was a "kid person" and now I have two of my own! :) Love them so very much and can't picture my life without them!

9. I enjoy thrift store shopping.

10. I was a save the whale activist when I was 8 years old. I have the t-shirt to prove it.

11. I am actually quite shy (which hasn't always been the case) but am pushed by ministry to reach out.

12. I get quite silly around 10:00 p.m. every night and has officially been labeled by David as the "10 O'clock freak out". Don't know why I think that is a good time to get all goofy. *shrugs*

13. My favorite color changes often. Some people have had the same favorite color since childhood. Mine changes almost yearly and I usually have more than one.

14. I was called a Jesus freak when I was 9 yrs old for telling a bully that if he hit my friend that he would be hitting Jesus because Jesus lives inside of us.

15. I cyber stalk blogs and get disappointed when they go weeks without a post. (Like I have nothing better to do with my time. Psssh.)

16. I am not a morning person but now consider sleeping in to be 7 a.m. instead of 9 or 10 like I did before I had kids.

17. I desperately want to be a bookworm but have a hard time finding books that keep me entertained. (I've never read Harry Potter. *GASP*)

18. I love to bake

19. I am not smarter than a fifth grader.

20. I prefer Mother's day over my birthday.

21. I remember insignificant things that are quite pointless (like what I wore to my birthday party 20 years ago) but have an awful short term memory.

22. My husband and I are total opposites. No joke.

23. I have no identifiable phobias... just things I'm not completely fond of.

24. I enjoy the smell of gasoline. Not like I'd want a candle with that smell but I don't mind it in the short time I'm at the pump.

25. I want to go to college but I STILL don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
I've wanted to be a counselor since I was 12 years old but I am still not confident in that and am praying God will lead me in my quest!

So yes. There is my list. I would encourage you to write one and if you have a blog... POST IT! :) It's kind of fun to do!

Love you All!

Yappidy Yap

So this last Saturday was Worldwide Knit In Public Day! There wasn't a very big turnout but it sure was fun with the people that came! Not to mention... we did get to yarn bomb. :) There was a little worry that we wouldn't be able to because we were told that we couldn't decorate any city property but this eyesore of a sign that is smack dab in front of Charlotte's store did not belong to the city. :) We got permission to at least decorate it and might I add... I am pretty fond of how it turned out. We brought unfinished projects, finished projects with no real use, donated and scrap yarn as well as some on the spot knitting that was done right there in public :) I'd say it is quite colorful and has been able to make it through the random rainstorms that have passed through since Saturday. And would you be shocked to read that we got help from our husbands?! HA! Mine (David) and Charlotte's (Chris) willingly wrapped yarn around the top of that sign! That is one way I know my husband loves me :) He helps his wife and her friends yarnbomb! :) So yeah. It was fun. :)

What have I been working on lately?
If you knit/crochet than you can understand when I say TOO MANY THINGS. Had an order for hair flowers which I love doing because the flowers crochet up so quickly!

I have a scarf that I've been working on for my sister for a while. It's a potato chip scarf which I will save for another post. :) I do have other things going but my brain hurts to much right now to think about those. lol

I will be doing another hat and bunny order but will be looking at something different for the hat. It's for my cousin who is really into photography so I'll be looking for a pattern that will be just as creative as she is! Maybe after she gets the order and uses it she'll let me post a pic or two.

I haven't really done anything for my etsy shop lately. I did make another necklace to post but am lacking the time or the energy to do all that editing and writing for that. I'm sure I will get around to it this weekend. Seems that I have more custom orders than anything so my etsy shop hasn't really been a priority as of late. But I do have some fun ideas for future projects that I am certain will make their way in my shop eventually!

My craftiness feels to be a little low key as of late though. Things have been much busier than I am use to now. Just this last week was crazy with Vacation Bible School mon-friday, Celebrate Recovery friday night, Soul Sisters Walkathon for human trafficking saturday morning (which was very successful by the way!), Worldwide Knit in Public day saturday afternoon, Step Study Sunday morning, Ushering after that, and then church for the kids in the Juvenile detention center Sunday evening. I think that is the busiest week I have had since I was laid off! This week though has been much more low key which I am thankful for!

Well, off I go to hopefully get some rest.

Love you All!

It's alive!!!

... My blog that is! It sure has been a little bit since my last blog but thought that I'd hop on here and write an update on what I've been up to.

I've been doing quite a bit of knitting. The picture that is posted (which is a pretty sad camera phone pic. sorry.) is of a partial order that will be shipped out on Tuesday. I am to make 2 earflap hats and 2 slouch hats and so far I have 2 earflap hats (one needs tassels still) and one slouch hat made. Won't take long to finish and wash and block them. I'll be take a road trip this weekend so that will give me plenty of time to knit in the car and finish that last hat. Pretty excited to have this order done and shipped out!

I had a couple of custom orders come in to me this week so I will not lack of things to do! Love my "job"! lol

Worldwide Knit In Public Day is coming up soon! June 11th which lands on a Saturday! If you are looking for a place to knit in public or even learn how to knit you can come to the Dancing Sheep Yarn and Fiber in downtown Casper and enjoy the nice weather, the good company, and some knitted entertainment between the hours of 11:00am-4:00pm. Be sure to bring a comfy chair to ensure you have a place to sit! If you don't have one I am sure one can be provided for you. :)
